Signal of cosmic strings in cross-correlation of 21-cm redshift and CMB polarization maps

چکیده

Abstract We study the signal of cosmic string wakes present before time reionization in cross-correlation 21-cm redshift and B-mode CMB polarization maps. The specific non-Gaussian strings position space maps can be extracted by means a matched filtering analysis. Signals with tension somewhat lower than those corresponding to current upper bound identified when embedded background Gaussian fluctuations from Planck best-fit LCDM model.

Cross-correlation studies with CMB polarization maps

The free-electron population during the reionized epoch rescatters the cosmic microwave background ~CMB! temperature quadrupole and generates a now well-known polarization signal at large angular scales. While this contribution has been detected in the temperature-polarization cross power spectrum measured with Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe data, due to the large cosmic variance associat...

The Cosmic Reionization History as Revealed by the Cmb Doppler–21-cm Correlation

We show that the epoch(s) of reionization when the average ionization fraction of the universe is about half can be determined by correlating the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature maps with the 21-cm line maps at degree scales (l ∼ 100). During reionization peculiar motion of free electrons induces the Doppler anisotropy of the CMB, while density fluctuations of neutral hydrogen ind...

The Cross-correlation of High-redshift 21 Cm and Galaxy Surveys

We study the detectability of the cross-correlation between 21 cm emission from the intergalactic medium and the galaxy distribution during (and before) reionization. We show that first-generation 21 cm experiments, such as the Mileura Widefield Array (MWA), can measure the cross-correlation to a precision of several percent on scales k ∼ 0.1 Mpc if combined with a deep galaxy survey detecting ...

Cross-correlation studies between CMB temperature anisotropies and 21 cm fluctuations

0556-2821=20 During the transition from a neutral to a fully reionized universe, scattering of cosmic microwave background (CMB) photons via free electrons leads to a new anisotropy contribution to the temperature distribution. If the reionization process is inhomogeneous and patchy, the era of reionization is also visible via brightness temperature fluctuations in the redshifted 21 cm line emi...

Reionization and the large-scale 21 cm-cosmic microwave background cross correlation

Of the many probes of reionization, the 21 cm line and the cosmic microwave background (CMB) are among the most effective. We examine how the cross-correlation of the 21 cm brightness and the CMB Doppler fluctuations on large angular scales can be used to study this epoch. We employ a new model of the growth of large scale fluctuations of the ionized fraction as reionization proceeds. We take i...
